The Left Hand Slowly Beckons is an illustrated weird-fiction anthology. The book is an exploration of illustration’s ability to portray the more obscure sides of our emotional registers. At the same time, it’s an experiment in drawing and a way to touch upon the differences between being a drawer and an illustrator and what those differences mean.
Weird-fiction as a genre deals with the more subtle aspects of horror and suspense; sometimes only through the choice of words or the setting of a certain mood. This book is an attempt so reflect these same qualities in drawing. Each story has its own aesthetic to fit its specific qualities. The tools used, the line and the colour become, not only a way of delivering the story, but part of the story itself.
